Privacy Policy
How we handle your information
Effective date: March 1, 2025
Overview
- This Privacy Policy explains how CatchupDay collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our web app and Chrome extension (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
- Authentication data is handled by AWS Cognito. Your email address is required for authentication, and AWS Cognito may store a phone number if you provide one. CatchupDay does not require, use, or process phone numbers.
- Saved link data when you explicitly save a page: the URL, page title, and minimal metadata required to identify the link.
- Limited technical data required to operate the Service securely, such as basic request logs and high-level browser information associated with network requests.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect user-entered notes, annotations, or other user-written content.
- We do not collect personal communications, messages, emails, keystrokes, mouse movements, browsing behavior, or browsing history.
- We do not collect precise location data beyond what is implicitly required for basic network requests.
How We Use Information
- Use data only to authenticate users and associate saved links with the correct account.
- Generate briefs and key points from saved links and present them in the Service.
- Provide, operate, and secure the Service, including reliability and abuse prevention.
- Respond to support requests you submit.
Sharing and Disclosure
- CatchupDay does not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties for their own purposes.
- We do not use data for advertising, tracking, profiling, or creditworthiness purposes.
- Authentication data is managed by AWS Cognito, which processes your authentication information to provide sign-in services.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the security of the Service and its users.
Cookies and Analytics
- We use cookies or similar technologies only as needed to keep you signed in and maintain your session, and not for analytics or advertising.
- The Chrome extension does not automatically collect browsing history and does not track user activity.
- You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
Data Retention
- We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
- If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations.
Security
- We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information.
- No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

- You can request deletion of your account by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
- The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
